E – breeding ewe
F – feeder steer
G – market goat
H – market hog
L – market lamb
M – meat goat doe
P – pen of 3 hogs (list each hog on a separate line)
S – market steer
If you have an interest in any of these areas, the Central Carolina Livestock Show may be of interest to you.
The show is scheduled for Wednesday, April 11 & Thursday, April 12 at the Central Carolina Holstein Barn on Orange Grove Road in Hillsborough

4-H Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program
2012 NC WHEP Contest
It is time to begin registering teams for the North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Evaluation Program (WHEP). The contest will be held on May 5, 2012, at Crowders Mountain State Park in Gaston County. The first place senior team will have the opportunity to represent North Carolina at the National WHEP Invitational in Texas.

Forsyth County 4-H is holding an OPEN meat-type doe, ewe and heifer show on March 17 & 18th at the Dixie Classic Fairgrounds in Winston-Salem for youth ages 5-18.

Summer Ventures in Science and Math
Do you know someone who will be a rising Junior or Senior in High School? If so, we would like to announce Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics (SVSM). This is a cost-free, state-funded program for academically talented North Carolina residents who may pursue careers based in science and mathematics. The program brings rising juniors and seniors together in residential settings for intensive study.
Students will be placed in a four week session that, depending on campus site, will start and end between June 17 and August 4.

4-H Club leaders in Randolph County are reminded they have the opportunity to attend the State 4-H Volunteer Leaders Forum to be held February 3 - 5 at Research Triangle Park.

Randolph County will pay the way for up to five leaders to attend this conference. During the weekend, leaders will attend workshops and meet with club leaders from across North Carolina.
