Scholarship Information Available


The NC Strawberry Association is offering two $1000 scholarships. The intent of this scholarship is to promote future leadership in the strawberry industry. The scholarship is open to
  • high school seniors or current college students
  • applying, accepted to, or currently enrolled in  a land grant university.
  • interested in or having declared a major in a program of study directly related to the strawberry industry (For example, small fruit production, marketing, food science, nutrition, entomology, agronomy, etc).
Two Scholarship Awards of $1000 each are offered for 2013. The number of awards will be determined based on applications received. This award is not limited to North Carolina. Family members of NC Strawberry Association members are encouraged to apply. Previous award winners may reapply for a second year's award.

Randleman Outdoor Club plans squirrel hunt!

Calling all hunters! The Randleman 4-H Outdoor Club is hosting a squirrel hunt on Saturday February 9 from sun-up until noon. Following the hunt, the club will be sponsoring a wild game feed!

Squirrel hunt will take place in the Pleasant Garden, NC area!

NC 4-H Visual Arts Contest

4-H has been a long time partner of Operation Military Kids. The sixth annual art contest is now announced. Randolph County 4-H club members are encouraged to submit their artwork for statewide recognition.


The contest is open to all North Carolina youth. Age categories are 5-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, and 16-19. Designed to introduce youth to the Visual Arts as a part of the 4-H Expressive Arts Curriculum, youth will utilize their skills and their artistry to capture their views of America and patriotism.

This year’s themes are:
- America the Beautiful
- Proud to be an American
- Patriotic Pride
- Celebrating Our Heroes…Past and Present

All photographs must have been taken by youth between the dates of May 1, 2012 and the time of entry. Photos may be submitted only one time and in only one division and class to the North Carolina Operation: Military Kids photography contest. 
Eligibility of Artwork: All artwork must have been created by youth between the dates of May 1, 2012 and the time of entry. Artwork may be submitted only one time and in only one division and class to the North Carolina Operation: Military Kids Visual Arts contest. 

Deadline to participate is April 30. Don't delay!

4-H District Horse Show Information

The North Central District horse show will be held May 18-19, 2013 at the Horse Complex in Raleigh.  
Entries need to be postmarked by April 26 to avoid a late fee
