4-H Volunteer Leaders Conference

The 2010 4-H Volunteer Leaders Conference is planned for February 5-7, 2010 located at the Sheraton Imperial near Research Triangle Park. There will be a pre-conference of workshops for leaders interested in additional training.

The good news is that Randolph County 4-H will offer five free scholarships to the conference to any 4-H Volunteer Leader wishing to register. Hotel accommodations are not included.

The deadline to register is January 22, and the registration fee is $110.

4-H Centennial Cookbook

The North Carolina 4-H Centennial Cookbook will be coming off the press in January. The cookbook includes 400+ Blue Ribbon Recipes collected from every 4-H decade. It also features photos depicting 4-H foods and nutrition projects throughout the decades. By ordering no later than December 31, 2009, you may purchase the cookbook at the prepress price of $14.95 plus shipping and handling. After January 2, 2010, the price will be $18.95 plus shipping and handling.

Mock Horse Bowl Contest

Rockingham County 4-H is hosting a Mock Horse Bowl contest on January 9th at the Rockingham County Extension office. There will also be Hippology materials to practice for the Hippology Contest as well. This event is open to all 4-Hers across the state!

Horse Bowl Contest Scheduled

Randolph County 4-H members are invited to participate in the North Central District 4-H Horse Bowl Contest to be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Guilford County Cooperative Extension Center in Greensboro.

Here is one requirement for the contest:
Every county that has a horse bowl team participating in the district contest must submit 35 questions to Extension Horse Husbandry by January 11th in a certain format. Please let me know and I can give you the format!
