4-H Honors Night Celebration Re-Scheduled

The winter weather caused us to postpone our annual Honor's Night Celebration! We have re-scheduled this event for: TUESDAY, March 4 at the Sunset Theater in downtown Asheboro.

Join us at 6:30 for several 4-H Entertains Performances. We will follow with our awards program and then enjoy a dessert reception!

Eastern NC 4-H Livestock School

Dairy Goat Fitting and Showing Clinic

 Where: East Carolina Ag & Education Center 1175 Kingsboro Rd., Rocky Mount, NC 

When: March 1, 2014 from 1-4 pm 

Cost: Free. Bring your own drinks/snacks for you and your animals. 

Purpose: Provide youth an opportunity to learn more about dairy goat showing and fitting.

Instructor: Cole Younger – K Bar C Toggenburgs, Nashville, NC

Personal Animals: Exhibitors are encouraged to bring one of their own animals. Youth do not have to bring an animal to participate. Bring your own bedding along with all supplies that you would utilize at a livestock show. The NC Cooperative Extension Service, NCSU, or our sponsors will not be responsible for any livestock at this event.

Youth Livestock Judging Clinic

Who: Youth ages 9-18

What: Educational clinic for youth interested in participating in livestock judging

events. For all experience levels from beginners to experts. We will break the kids

into groups depending on experience levels. Additionally, we will have a practice

contest where kids can learn!

When: March 22, 2014

Where: Mountain State Fairgrounds, Fletcher NC

Cost: $10 per person (Includes lunch and handouts)

The contest date for the NC Dairy Quiz Bowl and Dairy Skillathon competitions will be April 5, 2014 in Iredell County. The registration form can be found on the NC Dairy 4-H website.  The deadline for registration is March 21, 2014. Registration forms will be available SOON!
