4-H Honors Night is scheduled

Mark Friday night, February 27 on your calendar and plan to join us for the annual HONORS NIGHT Celebration to be held at First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro. A spaghetti dinner will be served beginning at 6:30 followed by our awards program!

The theme for our 2009 Honors Night Celebration is: Randolph County 4-H CAN DO! With our CAN DO attitude we will collect CANS of FOOD for Christians United Outreach Food Pantry! 4-H club members and their families are asked to bring cans of food to be donated! If you would like to get this collection started, you may drop your cans of food off at our office now!

We will also celebrate the 100th anniversary of 4-H in North Carolina with a birthday cake celebration! We have ordered 4-H Centennial t-shirts and they have arrived. If you would like to purchase a 4-H t-shirt, they are $8 each and we have them here at the Extension Office. In addition, we will sell the shirts at our Honors Night program too!

All club members and their families are invited to participate, however reservation must be made by calling 318-6000 and letting us know how many from your family will join us!

2009 NC 4-H Performing Arts Troupe

In recognition of the North Carolina 4-H Centennial, we are pleased to announce that in 2009 4-H’ers and leaders from across the state will have the opportunity to be involved in a new version of the 4-H Performing Arts Troupe.

Current 4-H members ages 12-18 will have the opportunity to audition for the 30-40 performing roles in the Troupe.

4-H’ers who are more interested in the technical components of the show can apply to work with our technical staff in the areas of costumes, props, set, lighting and sound.

Visit this website for the application form.

Costs: There will be a $300 participant fee for all 4-H aged performers and technical students to cover the cost of the rehearsal weekend in May and the weekend rehearsals before Congress. There will be no participant fee for adult leaders. All performers, technical students and adult volunteers must register for Congress which requires an additional registration fee to cover room and meals for the Congress week.
