Food Animal Day at NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine
Would you like to learn more about the Vet Med?
You are invited to this one day event to educate children, ages 8-14, about a few aspects of food animal medicine. Attendees will rotate through 5 stations (small ruminant physical examination; milking equipment and proper milking procedures; fistulated steer and rumen fluid analysis; anatomy lab; and low stress cattle handling) throughout the day with a parent session at the end about the path to becoming a veterinarian.
The NC Cattlemen's association has graciously sponsored "Food Animal Day" this year which allows for free registration and also free lunch to attendees!
Parents should register their children online to attend Food Animal Day by clicking the link below. (Registration is open on a 1st come, 1st serve basis up to 50 children). A conformation email will be sent to the parents after submitting the registration form. Since this does include some hands-on animal contact, I will be sending out a liability waiver form at a later time to those that have registered.
