4-H Horse Program Schedule
Here are a few of the upcoming dates for the 4-H Horse Program:
---NC 4-H Horse Program Membership form/fees due to Extension Horse Husbandry office - January 17
---Mock Horse Bowl and Hippo at Rockingham Count Ext Office - Jan 25, RSVP by Jan 17
---District 4-H Horse Bowl Contest at Guilford County Ext office - February 15, entry form is attached and can also be found at: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/wp- content/uploads/2013/12/HB- Entry.pdf and must be postmarked by January 24.
---State 4-H Horse Bowl Contest and Phase 1 of Hippology (Exams, IDs, team problem) - March 1 at NCSU Riddick Hall in Raleigh
---State 4-H Horse Judging Contest and Phase 2 of Hippology (judging and awards) - Tentative date of April 12 at St Andrews, Larinburg, NC
---District Activity Day (presentations) in Surry County - April 12
---Artistic Expressions Contest entries postmarked by May 1
---4-H Horsemanship Camp - June 15-21 at Camp Millstone
---District 4-H Horse Show - May 17-18 in Raleigh at Hunt Complex
---State 4-H Presentations Contest - June 21 on NCSU Campus during NC 4-H Congress again
---State 4-H Horse Show - July 9-13 at Hunt Horse Complex
---Southern Regionals Horse Show - July 30-August 2 - Hunt Horse Complex in NC
---Eastern National 4-H Horse Roundup - Tentative date of November 7 - 9 in Louisville, KY
---Holiday Classic Horse Shows (fundraiser our district!!) - December 7-8 this weekend, April 19-20, 2014 and December 6-7, 2014 at Hunt Horse Complex

North Central District 4-H Volunteer Leaders Fall Day
A wonderful training was held in early November for the North Central District 4-H Volunteer Leaders! Training was held on character development; positive youth development; personality typing; Environmental Field Trip planning and great sewing project.
The leaders also enjoyed the craft that was shared, a homemade Wind Chime!

Congratulations Rachel Osborne
Rachel Osborne was recognized at the NC 4-H State Council Conference for having been the North Central District Youth Volunteer Award Winner. She was recognized for her work with Tractor Supply in the Fall and Spring and helping to organize a bake sale to benefit Randolph County 4-H.
